    For Pedro Parra the purest expression of his passionate devotion to terroir is Clos des Fous, his collaboration with Francois Massoc, Paco Leyton, and Albert Cussen.   • Tasting notes

    Beautiful ruby red color, with characteristic red fruit nose, predominantly red cherry, raspberries and currants. Complete with a touch of species, black pepper and green tea. Opens in delicate aromas of red fruits and underbrush. Complex and elegant wine, refreshing and persistent finish attack. It has a fresh and balanced acidity that shows great potential in smooth, elegant finish. Cozy wine silky, generous, wide and sweet tannins; flavored with a subtle minerality on the palate.

  • Viticultural notes

    The vineyard sources for this Pinot Noir are located in Aconcagua and Itata. The two vineyards,Pucalan and Larqui, total about 10 acres, and were planted in 2008 and 1998 respectively. The altitude ranges between 24ft and 330ft. soils are Paleozoic Calcareous and Sandy at Pucalan and granite at Larqui.. Trellissing systems are: Pucalan- Espalier, Larqui- Bush Vine, average yield from both is 2.5 tons/acre.

  • Winemaking notes

    Harvested by hand from selected grapes of Aconcagua Costa and Malleco. Fermented by the traditional method, low intervention winemaking, long maceration and aging on lees.

    The 2016 Subsollum Pinot Noir is still a blend of grapes mostly from Aconcagua Costa, with some 18% Pinot Noir and 8% Cinsault coming from Itata. It's a light and fragrant expression of the grape, with a soft, mellow palate and varietal notes, very easy to drink and pleasant. And it's a great price for the pleasure it delivers. Clean, pure and fruit-driven, from grapes harvested before the rain. 21,600 bottles produced. It was bottled unoaked in early 2018.
