Canada’s Leading Premium Wine Import Agency Reorganizes

Agency’s New National Structure Sets Stage for Growth and the Company’s Next Phase

July 16, 2010 Vancouver, British Columbia

In Short:

Vancouver, Canada, June 15, 2010: Trialto Wine Group Ltd. announces it has joined Altovin, Calibrium and Liquid Art to form one company that now operates under the Trialto name. With offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal, $60 million in sales, and more than 40 employees, this change makes Trialto Canada’s largest independent, exclusively premium wine agency. The new structure’s efficiencies strengthen the company’s focus to be the leading importer of “wines of people, place and time.”

In full:

Trialto Wine Group Ltd. announces its new organizational structure, in which the entire business now operates under the Trialto Wine Group Ltd. name. Prior to this change, Trialto was comprised of three of Canada’s most successful premium wine importers/agents: Calibrium, Altovin (formally Winspeer) and Liquid Art.

The integration of these three companies simplifies Trialto’s business model and, the joining of its forces confirms the agency as one of the largest fine wine importing, marketing and sales agencies in Canada. The business continues its focus on premium wine from family owned estates; “wines of people, place and time”.

Under the new company structure, suppliers will have representation under one agency, Trialto. This change will offer stronger representation across Canada and eliminate regional market and staff limitations that previously existed. Liquid Art will be fully integrated but will remain a separate subset of wines focused on rare, allocated, and premium selections.

“These changes are occurring so that our company can better serve our suppliers, customers and valued employees,” says president Rob Bevis. “Additionally, the new structure will help grow our business. Our goal is to become known as one of the top 100 premium wine companies in the world,” he continues. “We aim to be recognized for our commitment to excellence through all our services.”

The Trialto philosophy is wines of people, place and time: “The wines we represent tell a story about the people that make them, the place they come from and the period in which they are made,” says Bevis. “This guides our entire business, as the Trialto focus is to source, import, market and sell wines from premium family-owned wineries representing important wine regions around the world. We represent incredible premium wines from around the world and serve the Canadian market by helping liquor boards, retailers and restaurants source, sell and market these wines,” he continues.” We will measure our success by the success of our winery partners and the success of our channel customers.”
