The NV White Port Lote 4 (Conceito by Barbeito) is a field blend coming in at 89 grams per liter of residual sugar. This is an unusual White Port style—it was aged only in stainless steel, for nine months. The idea, said the winery, is to "keep all the exuberance and freshness" of the wine. Although this is technically an NV wine by law, the "Lote 4" indicates the fourth vintage of this bottling, corresponding to the 2017 vintage. In this vintage, this seems to have fine concentration and fruitiness. There is structure underneath, though, showing some tannic pop on the end, cut by the slight hit of sugar. Not quite as dry, in fact, as on paper—the sugar may blow off more with age—this has an easy feel. I'm not sure it has the freshness of some other years, though. It should still age reasonably well. Rita Marques suggested this should age at least as well as a good LBV—which might mean around 20 to 25 years or so, but let's be a little conservative...Voir la revue de presse détaillée
