Dr. Madaiah Revana was bitten by the wine bug early in his medical career. After spending years travelling, collecting and enjoying the fine wines of Europe and California he became interested in purchasing a vineyard. An exceptional vineyard site, meticulous farming and masterful winemaking result in world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine quality begins in the vineyard. The Revana Estate Vineyard is situated in a prime part of St. Helena where deep, well-drained alluvial soils pair with warm days and cool nights to provide an ideal terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon. Hands-on vineyard management ensures that the natural potential of each vine is realized, and only perfect Cabernet grapes are brought into the winery.
Renowned winemaker Heidi Barrett has been responsible for crafting the exceptional wines of the Revana Estate vineyard since its first vintage in 2001. She has left an indelible imprint, and today winemaker Thomas Brown continues the tradition of making world-class Cabernet Sauvignon in the Revana style. This wine contains 100% Napa Valley Fruit from Oak Knoll, St Helena and Calistoga AVAs. Extremely limited irrigation is used to encourage vine stress. Once picked and sorted, the grapes undergo a five day cold-soak prior to a 16 day whole berry fermentation. Employing natural yeasts, gentle maceration and attention to every detail, wines of purity, depth, character and elegance are created. The wine spent 14 Months in 85% New French Oak with 12 Months of bottle aging.

Revana Terroir Series cabernet is Napa Valley fruit from three AVAs: Oak Knoll, St Helena, and Calistoga. The fruit cold-soaked for five days before going through a 16-day whole berry fermentation. The blend is 83/15/2/cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. The nose is quiet (for Napa) with savoury black fruits and light spice. Dense sweet tannins mark the wine's rich textures, ripe with plenty of depth and complexity. The mid-palate is long and well-balanced with black olives, black currants flecked with floral and mineral notes. The alcohol is in check in what can described as the new Napa style. Big with a conscience. Revana uses four cabernet sauvignon clones and is aged in 85 percent new French oak.See detailed press review
